Nobody likes to talk about it, but oral disease is incredibly pervasive both at home and around the world. And it’s easier to get than we think: the World Health Organization (WHO) reports that at least 60-70% of children in developed nations have had cavities, and nearly 100% of adults. All it takes is a few missed dental checkups to find out that bacteria have been eating away at your teeth for months!
I’m not trying to scare you; it’s just the truth. And cavities aren’t even the worst oral disease out there.
Sure, if left untreated, a cavity could do some real damage to your mouth. But, in general, a filling is quick and painless. If you want a healthy mouth, you have to take good care of your teeth and gums. Remember, you’re not invincible.
