For elementary schools alone, there are 15 schools to choose from – Yes, you read that right – 15 elementary schools!

School District 15 is the third largest elementary district in Illinois, which serves not only Palatine but also Rolling Meadows, Hoffman Estates, Inverness, Arlington Heights, South Barrington, and Schaumburg.

Depending on the area a family with children chooses to live, Palatine families are guaranteed a great elementary school education for their young ones. The schools have one various rewards including the Academic Excellence Award, the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the Illinois Spotlight School Award, the Blue Ribbon for No Child Left Behind, and other accolades for education and sports.   • There are 4 junior high schools in School District 15 and 2 of them are located within Palatine. The first is Walter R. Sundling Junior High School and the second is Winston Campus Junior High.

    Walter R. Sundling Junior High won the Academic Excellence Award in 2011 while Winston Campus Junior High received the Illinois Spotlight School Award in 2011. Students have an array of clubs and sports to choose from including cross country, soccer, basketball, and volleyball.

    Though part of District 211, Palatine High School, Home of the Pirates, is located within Palatine and offers students a place to learn as well as participate in a variety of activities that will help shape their lives forever. Palatine High School’s principal, Gary Steiger, was named the Illinois Principals Association 2015-2016 High School Principal of the Year. He has had a positive impact on everyone from students to staff and leaves a great impression on his students and the entire learning environment. The students can participate in loads of different sports and activities – there is literally something for every student at Palatine High School. From athletics to theater to speech team, each student can find what interests them most.
